TIPS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
- Grind Consistency: Consistency in grind size is key. Use uniform coffee grounds for even extraction.
- Dose Properly: Use about 18-20 grams of coffee grounds for a standard double shot, adjusted based on your portafilter basket size.
- Distribution: Evenly distribute the coffee grounds in the portafilter basket using a tool or your fingers to ensure uniform water flow.
- Tamp Evenly: Use a calibrated tamper to apply consistent pressure, creating a level surface.
- Check for Channeling: One benefit of the Bottomless Portafilter is its ability to show if channeling occurs. Channeling happens when water finds a path of least resistance, leading to uneven extraction. Look for spurts of espresso coming from one area of the portafilter to spot channeling.
